Classification: Non-Exempt Grade: 9 Responsible for processing
residential mortgage loan files from application through closing,
ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable
federal, state, regulatory, and credit union guidelines. The
Mortgage Processor serves as a key liaison between members, credit
union staff, and third-party vendors, providing timely
communication and exceptional member service. The Mortgage
Processor supports the credit union’s mission by facilitating
efficient, compliant, and member-focused mortgage lending while
maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: E 60% Manages assigned
mortgage loan files from application through closing in accordance
with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory
requirements. Review loan applications and ensure all required
documentation is complete, accurate, and properly uploaded into the
loan origination system. Analyze credit income, asset, and property
documentation to identify issues and fulfill underwriting
requirements. E 15% Actively manages the loan pipeline to track
milestones, deadlines, and conditions to help ensure timely
closings. Proactively follow up on outstanding conditions and
documentation required for underwriting and closing. E 10% Serves
as a primary point of contact for members, loan officers,
underwriters, closers, title companies, and vendors through the
loan process. Order and monitor third party reports and
verifications (appraisals, title work, flood certificates, credit
reports, etc.) E 10% Responsible for compliance with all
governmental regulations and Credit Union policies, procedures, and
guidelines. Responsible for complying with all regulations and
rules as required by NCUA. E 5% Performs others duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements: 1. Processes loan files and submits them
to underwriting accordingly to ensure the loan file can close. 2.
Assists the mortgage team with pipeline management, third-party
communications, and member assistance. 3. Maintains a professional
work environment and businesslike appearance. 4. Stays up to date
with ongoing regulations and changes in lending requirements. 5.
Meets with members to assist with their mortgage and financial
needs. 6. Assists with business development activities as needed.
7. Demonstrates an understanding of, and follows the requirements
of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of
Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program
(CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to
their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML
compliance. Knowledge and Skills: Experience Three years to five
years of similar or related experience. Education (1) High school
graduate with at least 5 years experience in mortgage lending with
at least 2 years as a Mortgage Processor. Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or
outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining
information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills Must have good communication skills. Must have
initiative, persuasiveness, resilience, adaptability and
dependability. Must have above average PC and typing skills.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or
feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee
frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision
abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to
adjust focus. Work Environment Work is performed indoors with some
potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to
electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to
potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to
