Job Description:
Currently seeking a detail-oriented Lead Mechanical Engineer to
join a leading water technologies company in the Beaumont area.
They are a well-respected company with facilities across the world
and offer long-term career growth for their employees. Within a
project team environment, this person will be responsible for
supporting engineering design, construction and commissioning of
automated process system. He/she needs to generate engineering
deliverables, review technical specification/documents from
contractors, support construction progression, provide unit
installation and commissioning support and participate in the final
chemical trials. Duties: - Work with lead engineer and 3rd party
contractors to design piping mechanical and process systems. -
Generate engineering deliverables include technical specification,
maintenance/operation manuals, procedures, drawings, prepare
document dossier for pre-commissioning activities related to
mechanical disciplines - Review detail engineering documents from
3rd party contractors - Support construction work during mechanical
installation and represent the company's interest - Support all
Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and
regulations - Support plant improvement projects - Support PSM
standards by participating in PHAs and follow up on MOCs as
appropriate - Assist project team with setting expectations for
preventative maintenance and working with vendors to implement
equipment best practices - Champion equipment ITP processes:
periodic inspection of process units in vendor shops, review
manufacturing procedure, standards and specifications and work with
vendor to establish test plans. - Lead commissioning activities
such as equipment alignments, pressure tests, adjust rotational
equipment, etc. - Establish mechanical ownership manuals and
provide training to operation and maintenance personals in the
plant - Maintain proper documentation on all project related work
QualificationsEducation: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical
engineering Experience: - 5 years minimum experience of related
work experience in engineering or manufacturing environment Desired
Qualifications - Previous experience in environments like specialty
chemical production, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, oil and
gas, etc. - Previous experience in fields:o Static equipment
including pressure vessel and piping systemo Rotational equipment
(pumps, compressors, etc)o Heat exchangerso Atmospheric storage
tanks - Familiar with industry codes such as ASME B31.3, ASME Sec
VIII, Div 1, API650 and various manufacturing codes - Strong
drafting capabilities and proficient in professional software such
as AutoCAD and AutoCAD plant 3D - Excellent communication and
documentation skills - Strong computer skills, including MS
Outlook, Excel, Word, and the Internet - Team player, individual
thinker
