(Schaumburg & Polk, Inc. has an opening in Beaumont, TX) Project
Engineer: Understand the requirements of, and participate in, the
study and report, preliminary design, final design, bidding and
construction phases of selected projects. Develop design concepts
which are incorporated into the final product by staff designers
and engineers. Develop schematic design information for Project
Manager. Understand regulations and design criteria affecting the
project. Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into
design development. Work with the project team to produce
construction documents. Select standard details and develop special
details that will be used on the project. Document and assess
existing conditions in order to determine problems. Develop
specifications for construction documents. Develop lists of
prospective bidders, prepare advertisements for bids, attend prebid
conferences, answer questions, prepare addenda, attend bid
openings, tabulate bid results, and prepare a letter of
recommendation of award of the construction contract. Attend
construction meetings and prepare daily construction reports.
Prepare change orders, review pay applications, and prepare
construction close out documents. Prepare engineering opinions of
probable cost, and review contractor cost estimates. Review
drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and
production standards. Coordinate staff activities to ensure
achievement of goals of project budget, schedule, and quality.
Utilize Civil 3D. Requires Bachelors in Civil Engineering, or
related and 2 years experience in the job offered, or Civil
Engineer (EIT), Civil Engineer, or related. 2 years must include
experience with Civil 3D. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer
