exploration. We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering
Assistant - Space Hardware Design and Analysis to join our JETS II
contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX . If
selected you will: Report directly to the Group Manager of the
Design and Analysis Group. Provide support and work directly with
the Design and Analysis Group Section Managers. Help in the
development and deployment of design and analysis training
material. Update engineering documents. Utilize and aid in the
compilation of output from the activity reporting tool for the
group. Coordinate technical design reviews and manage associated
tools and documents. Review and coordinate the execution of
Engineering Service Requests. Coordinate Drawing Review and Release
approval for fabrication. Develop tools and maintain design
engineering task automation tools. Complete design and drawings for
various projects utilizing PTC CREO or Altium Designer. Conduct
analysis on various designs utilizing electrical and mechanical
analysis tools such as Pspice, NASTRAN, Thermal Desktop etc. Aid in
the maintenance of design configuration documents for a given
design. Maintain various bills of materials and procurement lists
for a given design. Perform investigative legwork for design and
test anomalies, process escapes, or the like. Assist in the
development of new or improved tools, processes, workflows, or
plans and present new material to the group. Review proposals for
these new tools. Work in a laboratory environment, following
standard operating procedures. Manage and provide input to Design
and Analysis Group Wiki Maintain and improve upon Design
Manufacturing Database Develop and maintain Smartsheet or
SharePoint tools for drawing and design review tracking. Develop
and maintain Smartsheet or SharePoint tools for Resource
Allocation. Provide logistics and hardware setup for Engineering
Development Facility Laboratory area. Provide design, analysis and
logistics support to various innovations and NASA direct projects.
Acclimation to various design/development configuration management
tools such as git, SVN etc. Develop and maintain tools for
design/analysis task earned value monitoring. Perform other duties
as required. Qualifications: This position has been posted at
multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience,
requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider

advertised. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering
with experience in the field or in a related area. Possess the
ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical
disciplines. Possess the ability to visualize and work with others
in problem-solving as part of a team. Experience with mechanical
CAD packages such as PTC CREO or Solidworks. Exposure to electrical
schematic entry and printed circuit board layout tools such as
Altium Designer. Prior experience with various programming tools
and environments such as Matlab, Mathcad, Python, C++, LabVIEW etc.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and
schedules. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with the Microsoft suite of tools. Perform other duties
as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Experience utilizing
Smartsheet Tool. Experience with technical writing. Proficient in
MS Office programs, particularly OneNote, Teams, MS Project, Excel,
PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Excellent communication and
organizational skills and the ability to work in a team
