overtimeFree food andmore!Jobresponsibilities: Directly supervises
the substance abuse counselor II andoffice manager. Responsible for
planning, developing, andimplementing designated substance abuse
programs with emphasisplaced on awareness, prevention, staff
training and networking withcommunity
resources.EssentialFunctions:Responsible forprogram planning,
development, training, and implementation;monitors compliance with
policies and procedures; and providingconsultative services to
plan, implement, and monitor effectiveagency programs.Develop a
system to promote thecoordination and integration of the substance
abuse preventioncomponents with other facilityprograms.Conducts
special investigations, programanalyses, and research studies;
reviews and analyzes treatmentoperations and problems and prepares
reports of findings andrecommendations; and initiates activities to
produce a moreeffective program.Ensure that theprogram is complying
with State Jail Substance Abuse ProgramOperations Manual (SJSAPOM)
and all other TDCJ department policiesand directives.Ensure that
all participants in the programreceive the appropriate assessments
and services within the definedtime frames of the contract and that
all required documentation isprocessed in a timely manner.Prepares
annualprogram budget; develops policy and procedure manuals; and
assistsin the preparation of training and operational manuals,
educationalmaterials, and information programs.Works withprogram
staff in determining trends and resolving technicalprograms;
provides technical assistance on program services; andprovides
liaison with other departments, divisions, agencies,
andorganizations.Provide staff training, evaluate staffperformance
and implement organizational and personnel changes asapproved by
the regional operations director and coordinated withthe office
manager and/or corporate human resources manager priorto
implementation. It is expectedthat the incumbent shall perform
other duties as assigned withinhis/her capabilities as determined
bymanagement.Positionrequirements: Bachelor's degree from a college
or universityaccredited by an organization recognized by the
Council for HigherEducation Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United
States Departmentof Education (USDE). Major course work in a
BehavioralScience, Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
Eachyear of experience as described below in excess of the
requiredfive years may be substituted for thirty semester hours
from anaccredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.
Five yearsfull-time, wage-earning program administration or
counselingexperience. Two years full-time, wage-earning experience
in thesupervision of employees. Current valid licensure as a
Licensed ChemicalDependency Counselor ( LCDC ) by the Texas
Department of StateHealth Services ( DSHS ) or current
certification as a CertifiedCriminal Justice Professional ( CCJP )
by the Texas CertificationBoard of Addiction Professionals or
current valid QualifiedCredentialed Counselor ( QCC ) licensed to
provide substanceabuse treatment. A valid driverlicense in the
state of Texas with an acceptable driving recordrequired, unless
