Job Description:

RoleThis role is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and meeting all objectives of the Credit Union's consumer lending (Consumer Lending, Indirect Lending, and Mortgage Lending) services. The V.P. of Consumer Lending will propose, initiate, and oversee all loan programs, products and new initiatives to grow lending results, portfolio balances and profitabilityas expected. They will assure that lending activities of the company meet member's needs, comply with all organizational policy and regulatory requirements, and are administered to minimize risk to the financial institution. The V.P. of Consumer Lending is ultimately responsible for ensuring lending goals and budgets are set and achieved. They will build and implement a sales culture in all aspects of lending that supports member and Credit Union growth.Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiently, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, and assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values , policies, and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate. Coach staff and drive accountability to expected results.
    • Creates and implements sales strategies, product campaigns and reporting to drive quality portfolio growth and staff productivity which adds value to member relationships and grow product and portfolio balances and profitability.
      • Promotes and leads all aspects of any department project and allocates financial and talent resources appropriately. Leads new lending initiatives that enhances member relationships.
        • Evaluate requests for workouts of loan problems through personal interaction with members or staff representatives to devise solutions which encourage continued payment of loans and assess the options available to the member from a variety of loan products or approaches and thereby expand to the member's usage of the Credit Union.
          • Direct the development and implementation ofan annual budget for the various lending departments of the Credit Union assuring that information submitted accurately reflects projected revenue and expenses and is documented in a manner that supports a meaningful monthly variance review and analysis.
            • Make recommendations for changes or additions to loan programs, processes or services which offer expanded benefits to the Credit Union's membership. Implements and reports on approved loan products and processes throughout the organization.
              • Develops appropriate business intelligence reporting for management and Board review to determine tactical and strategic actions needed to exceed budget expectations.
                • Review loan documentation to ensure that it accurately describes loan products and remains in compliance with lending regulations. Update policy and procedure manuals as needed.
                  • Must comply with applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.Knowledge and SkillsEXPERIENCEA minimum of five to ten years of experience including time spent in preparatory positions.EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESA four year college degree is required.INTERPERSONAL SKILLSThe ability to motivate or influence senior level personal, internally or externally, is a key component of the job, requiring a significant level of expertise, credibility, influence and trust. Proficiency in developing and delivering material presentations on complex topics can be important to fulfilling the responsibilities of the position. The inability to communicate at this level would disqualify the individual from being able to fulfill their job responsibilities.Minimum starting wage: $156,996(negotiable based on experience)
