Summary/Objective

The RN Clinical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing clinical trials or studies to test the effectiveness of new drugs or biotechnology. The RN Clinical Research Coordinators is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies. They attend seminars and events to promote studies, recruit, and screen study participants, as well as document and report on the daily operations of a study.

* 1. Responsible for ensuring study is in compliance with local and federal laws and regulations.

2. Utilizes good clinical practice to recruit and screen potential study participants and perform intake assessments, as well as maintaining good clinical practice throughout participant's study participation working directly with the physician to maintain protocol compliance.

3. Creates and/or maintains all documents and records related to the study as required per protocol. Creates reported on each study, including notes on protocols, workload, and data collection.

4. Acts as a point of reference for study participants by answering question and keeping them informed on the study progress. Acts as a point of reference for clinical staff by educating and training clinical staff on specific duties related to the participant on trial, while also being a point of reference for answering clinical staff questions throughout the duration of the study.

5. Collects, processes, and ships research specimens and inputs data and patient information into electronic data captaining systems.

6. Communicates with sponsor and contract research organizations to ensure protocol compliance and participant's welfare. Works with sponsor and/or contract research organization to schedule and complete monitoring visits.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Required License/Certifications

Current RN license in the state of Texas

BLS certification

Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire or date of transfer
