* Summary/Objective
The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing appropriate,
high quality patient care and assist in the evaluation and care of
all assigned patients related to Interventional Radiology
Services.
Essential Job Duties

1. Accurately assess the patient's condition on an ongoing basis,
effectively interpreting laboratory/diagnostic tests results and
appropriately prescribes medical therapies based on patient care
needs. Effectively evaluates patients' responses to prescribed
medical/nursing therapies.
2. Provides patient education regarding common testing and
procedures performed within Baptist Hospital and the Interventional
Radiology/Cath Lab Service Line and serves to facilitate patient
appointments for procedures, and physician appointments. This
position serves as patient liaison and communicates frequently and
effectively with providers, patients and family; as well as,
communicates with noncompliant patients or patients lost to
follow-up via telephone and/or certified mail correspondence.
Provides reports on patient progress/compliance to referring
physicians.
3. Networks with PCP, Interventionalists, and others to facilitate
appointments and prepares information for discussion and treatment
planning conferences. Coordinates with Medical Director of
Peripheral Vascular Services.
4. Demonstrates a sound knowledge base of advanced practice
including principles of advanced physical assessment and
pharmacology.
5. Guides, directs, and plans the organization and coordination of
activities in the Peripheral Vascular Program with ongoing
assessment of the quality and efficiency of these activities in
collaboration with Medical Director of Peripheral Vascular Program.
Maintains effective working relationships with other managers,
directors, physicians, and practitioners
6. Interacts with other physician practices, pharmacies, etc. for
clinician referrals, orders, prescriptions, and other items
necessary to assist the clinicians with growth and higher
productivity.

Required Education and Experience
Master's Degree
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Required License/Certifications
Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of
Texas
