Job Description:
Memorial Hermann, a premier health system in Texas, is seeking a
highly skilled Senior Histology Technician to join our team
dedicated to advancing health care through cutting-edge
technologies and exceptional patient care. In this role, you will
be an integral part of our pathology department, utilizing your
expertise in histology to provide accurate and timely processing of
tissue specimens. Your work will directly support diagnostic and
treatment decisions, enhancing patient outcomes and advancing
clinical practices. Prepare, process, and stain pathology specimens
accurately for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis by
pathologists. Maintain and operate histology laboratory equipment
with a high level of proficiency. Ensure compliance with all
laboratory safety protocols and conduct regular quality control
assessments. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare
professionals to discuss clinical procedures and outcomes.
Supervise and train junior technicians and support staff in the
histology lab. Implement new techniques and technologies in
histological testing, staying current with advances in the field.
Expertise in tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining
techniques. Proficiency with histology equipment such as
microtomes, cryostats, and automated stainers. Strong
organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work
independently and as part of a team. Medical Insurance Dental

Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical
Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
