Under general supervision conducts internal investigations of
alleged or suspected violations of Corporate policy and/or
criminal/civil law based on facts, testimony and evidence.
Exercises reasonable latitude in determining investigative
strategies and techniques while working independently in the
planning and conducting of difficult and complex investigations of
alleged or suspected violations of laws or policies involving
criminal and/or civil statutes while also providing technical
investigative services. Develops investigative strategies, conducts
interviews of witnesses, suspects and/or vendors to develop
evidence and or testimony that can be used to resolve criminal
and/or civil issues that are the focal point of the investigation.
Maintains a liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement
agencies in order to achieve maximum results that support Corporate
interests or efforts. Work is reviewed by management for
appropriate investigative techniques and to insure that Company
defined policies and procedures are being followed. Serves as a
mentor for lower-level investigators as they plan, organize and
conduct their investigative activity. Involves lower-level
investigators in complex investigations by allowing them to assist
with the gathering of data, conducting and observing interviews,
searching records, securing signed documents, and preparing
reports. In accordance with established procedures, prepares clear,
comprehensive and cohesive investigative reports and statistical
data in a timely manner. Briefs senior management on investigative
findings to assist in informed decisions regarding Corprorate
actions. Evaluates the latest products and techniques in
communications and other technical support equipment utilized in
investigations, and provides advice and consultations in there use.
Organizes and maintains a library of locally developed and
commercial investigative tools to support programs. Testifies
before grand juries, courts and administrative hearings on
investigative findings. Qualifications Skills typically acquired
through completion of an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice
or related field and a minimum of 5-9 years of experience in
criminal and/or corporate investigations. Possession of or ability
to obtain Texas Private Investigator license required. Possession
of or ability to obtain Texas Personal Protection Officer license
is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database
research. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in
writing at all levels. Strong time management and organizational
skills to effectively manage and prioritize several tasks at one
time in a time sensitive environment. Must have proven interview
and interrogation skills. Foreign and domestic travel will be
