PRIMARY FOCUS: This position will focus on revenue and active account growth to an assigned business category or geography. The primary responsibilities include: strategic prospecting, conducting needs assessments, idea and proposal generation, presentation of advertising recommendations and closing of the sale. This position will ensure exceptional customer service to current and prospective advertisers.
Additional key focus areas will include opening account relationships and setting client expectations. It will be necessary to meet with individual clients monthly, quarterly or annually to review campaign process, budgets, performance and to create new strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Grow advertising revenue through growth of current accounts, reduction of churned accounts or acquisition of new business. • Exhibit a consultative selling style by conducting needs assessment by asking questions to learn the business goal and objectives of the prospect.• Analyze clients' marketing campaign objectives in order to prepare a creative solution that includes all appropriate products that fit the client's budget and campaign goals.• Effectively present solution-based marketing proposals and recommendations to quickly close new business.• Meet established monthly and annual revenue (both total and digital) and account development goals.• Communicate and collaborate with sales management to develop future account strategies to adhere to sales retention and acquisition goals. • Deliver and review monthly digital reports with customers on their performance and/or progress.• Use and update regularly CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool with customer information, including maintaining a robust pipeline of business you are working.• Provide input for sales manager to emphasize sales opportunities, customer satisfaction, address challenges and discuss general business conditions.• Maintain the dignity of team and team members• Generate and sustain a spirit of team success. • Lean to adapt and innovate on a consistent basis.• Produce accurate work, keeping adjustments to a minimum while adhering to deadlines.• Submit reports and forecasts in a timely manner.• Advocate and demonstrate a superior level of excellent internal and external customer service.• Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Advanced training and/or experience in sales.• Ability to communicate in a persuasive manner in order to gain acceptance for yourself and your ideas.• Consultative sales style demonstrated by effective listening skills and the ability to determine client needs through proper needs assessment techniques.• Proven track record and skill in closing the sale. • Self-motivated and able to plan daily priorities in a way that ensures your success in a high sales closing ratio.• Strong oral presentation skills and ability to field questions from clients.• Advanced training and/or experience in overcoming objections.• Ability to think creatively and along company product lines as it pertains to preparing plans and proposals.• Skilled in managing time wisely, leaving ample time in each day for high gain activities.• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Adept in Internet usage.• Ability to work with teams while treating clients, both internal and external, with dignity and respect. • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance to set the stage for sales success.• Must be able to communicate in English, both written and oral.• Working knowledge of CRM programs, a plus.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or GED, BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing or related field a plus.• Minimum 2-3 years' sales experience; track record of success in prospecting and closing new business. Advertising sales experience a plus.• Valid Driver's License, Proof of Insurance and working vehicle required.
