Job Summary:

The Senior Production Engineer will provide technical oversight and production support engineering for a specific production unit area and/or multiple areas that are vital to TPC's manufacturing and business success. The successful candidate will interface with multiple support groups to solve problems, demonstrate continuous improvement ideals to sustain products with cost reduction, and yield improvements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership in production support engineering for a specific production unit or group of processing units.
• Interfaces with multiple support groups including engineering, maintenance, environmental, and others to solve problems.
• Continuously improves manufacturing processes and products with cost reduction and yield improvements.
• Provides technical leadership for the operating unit and performs necessary engineering work to deliver consistent, safe and compliant operations.
• Monitor daily operations, production rates and product quality.
• In collaboration with Process Control, develops, implements, and maintains the process control strategy.
• Primary technical point of contact for identification and evaluate EH&S risks.
• Leads or participates in incident investigations and root cause analysis teams.
• Calculate final spill and release amounts.
• Work with other Operations and support personnel on Process Safety Information to ensure they are valid and up to date.
• Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel and leadership.
• Works with Project and Process Engineering to evaluate feasibility and economics of proposed projects and improvements.
• Resolves existing or potential production problems at various levels of complexity and understands when to seek resources. Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in Petrochemical and/or Refining environments which include experience in Distillation Operations Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience and familiar with PSM and its application in operating plants
    • Can communicate clearly and concisely as well as able to take complex concepts and issues and relate them in terms multiple levels of the organization can understand
    • Demonstrates good engineering judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex problems.
    • Networks with internal and external personnel to build knowledge and expertise. ------
    • Demonstrates leadership qualities and the ability to drive projects and teams to maximum productivity and completion.
    • Develops practical and applicable solutions to operating and maintenance issues
    • Leadership in root cause failure analysis and preventive strategies.
    • Supports business goals, company direction and policy decisions.
    • Sets the example for others in areas of technical knowledge, productivity, initiative, and leadership in core values such as safety, environmental compliance, and professional ethics.
