Job Description:
Medical Technologist (El Campo Memorial Hospital) (El Campo,
TX): Performs testing accurately and efficiently in all areas of
the laboratory; Calibrates test procedures when applicable
according to protocol; Operates and calibrates laboratory equipment
and performs maintenance as required; Analyzes findings for
accuracy and corrects reporting errors within the acceptable time
frame as per protocol; Functions in all areas of the laboratory;
Serves as a phlebotomist as required; Documents newly opened
reagents as per department protocol, performing parallel testing
and/or quality control as required; Participates in departmental
quality assurance (CQI) activities as assigned and submits
completed reports according to the reporting schedule; Acts as
General Supervisor when need arises, including addresses quality
control problems and documenting remedial action taken, reports
panic values as per department protocol, and prepares and presents
monthly section reports on time at the laboratory QA/QC meeting;
Demonstrates familiarity with all hospital and departmental safety
standards; Demonstrates patient centered/patient valued behaviors;
and Demonstrates knowledge and skill in meeting age and/or
handicapped patient’s needs. Must have experience with the
following: Knowledge of technologies such as automated platelet
analyzers, chemistry analyzers, coagulation analyzers, medical
software, and photometers to perform accurate and efficient testing
in all areas of the laboratory; Knowledge of Microsoft Word and
Excel, and Adobe; Operating and maintaining the preceding equipment
and working with medical software and laboratory interface;
Knowledge of quality control requirements, mean and standard
deviation calculations, and CLIA compliance requirements. Requires
a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Medical Technology or
a related field, and 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
or related occupation. Requires certification as a Medical
Technologist or registration with the American Society of Clinical
Pathologists (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or
equivalent. Salary: $50,066 - $80,600 per year. Please send C.V. to
